“Before you can do something, you must be something.”

by Chris Batu

We all want to be champions, but before any of us can ever hope to win a championship in whatever we are striving for success in, we have to be champions in our attitude, in our discipline, and in the way in which we live our daily lives.

You don’t simply stumble into success one day after taking random shots at it and hoping that one will land.  Champions are made in the blood and sweat of daily commitment to a dream.

Joe Frazier once said, “You can map out a fight plan or a life plan, but when the action starts, it may not go the way you planned, and you’re down to your reflexes – that means your [preparation:]. That’s where your roadwork shows. If you cheated on that in the dark of the morning, well, you’re going to get found out now, under the bright lights.”

If you don’t put in your road work, when no one is watching, when no one will even realize that you laid your heart on the line, alone, in the dark of the morning, when the opportunity for you to seize success and become a champion arrives, the truth will be revealed.  If you’re ready for it, you will walk away a champion.  If you are not, you’re going to get found out under the bright lights.
